History from Glads
In 2019 we celebrated 50 Years of Adelaide Lutheran Football and what a year it was, celebrating another 2 premierships.
One year on and what an unbelievable start to the rest of our history with no Doggies footy to talk about. Fortunately with nothing current to report it is an opportune time to reflect on our history and all the good times from days gone by, particularly the more recent times enjoyed by current members and friends.
In the link below is a summary of last year’s magnificent C Grade premiership played at the Ponderosa, the biggest oval in the southern hemisphere in stifling 27 degree conditions.
Over the next weeks there will be a regular collection of club history and footy stories from the book for all members and friends to enjoy. If anyone wants a copy of the History book, A Bulldog for Me - 50 Years of Adelaide Lutheran Football, copies are still available to purchase (details here). Delivery will be free of charge from now on.”
C Grade Premiership
We hope you enjoyed reliving last year’s C Grade Premiership. It was only our second C Grade grand final win in our 50 year history. Except for 1984, we have fielded a C Grade side since 1978 and had only won the premiership once in 1992, when it was coached by Peter Koop and captained by Marty Jongeneel.
This week is a double header, reliving last year’s B Grade Premiership and finding out more about SuperCoach, Joh Duffield in his Footy Story from the book,” My Country Home in the City.” Duff has probably told most of the guys this already but he has an amazing coaching record at the Doggies. Not only has he coached three consecutive B Grade Premierships but has coached 53 wins from 58 games at a staggering 91%.
